Cultural Food and Agriculture Entrepreneurship Program

Supporting Indigenous cultural food and agriculture entrepreneurs through education, peer-support, and amplification opportunities

about

Indigenous food business leaders are working to create access to cultural and culturally-stewarded foods while operating with Indigenous economic values and commitments to community, culture, and the land. Indigenous chefs, caterers, farmers, harvesters, medicine gatherers, value-added food producers, food product aggregators, and others experience complex realities of honouring cultural economies under colonial economic systems without Indigenous-dedicated learning spaces. Sovereign Seeds' Indigenous Cultural Food and Agriculture Entrepreneurship Program aims to nurture, support, and connect Indigenous food leaders navigating for-profit markets. We offer culturally-centered and values-guided learning and mentorship opportunities to assist Indigenous cultural food and agriculture entrepreneurs in developing and scaling their endeavours. Current and in-development opportunities span a number of in-person and virtual formats, including workshops and webinars, mentorship and peer sharing spaces, gatherings and events, publications and resources, and others.
