Seed, Food, and Medicine Trade Events
Supporting Indigenous cultural economies and trade routes by hosting Indigenous exchange events to share seeds, food, medicines, and cultural items

keeping trade routes alive
We host exchange events to create opportunities for Indigenous people to trade and gift seeds, food, medicines, and cultural items. These events increase community connections and access to cultural food systems. At these events, we distribute the seeds we steward and produce. Exchange events strengthen our ancestral trade routes and seed histories, seeing seeds move hand to hand across communities and territories.

supporting cultural economies
These exchange events promote our cultural economies of trading and gifting. Exchange events allow community members to give and offer what they can, receive what they need, and learn from and care for one another. Our cultural food system economies strengthen Indigenous food sovereignty and food security and support resilience to commercial market pricing and access. These events also highlight local and regional gaps in our supply networks and help us identify needs.
